Attended 6 months ago, service was great, fish and chips were lovely! Today however, they ran out of fish 2 hours into service, we was forced to order scampi and chips. Only to find out that the scampi was cooked from frozen, chips were cooked from frozen. This restaurant has really gone down hill, portion size has also shrunk. Will not be going back.
I love visiting this branch of Wyevale. The staff in the plant shop are very helpful and friendly. The cafe on the other hand is the complete opposite. Sharon is very rude every time she serves me. So miserable and unhelpful and ruins my visit. Everything is too much trouble!! The whole counter staff in the cafe need retraining on customer service. The staff out the back of the cafe are good. Again Sharon was rude with her snide comment. She needs to learn to leave her personal feelings at home and get on with the job!! How on earth she ever got a job dealing with customers is beyond me.
Went here for lunch with the family. We spent around 15 minutes chatting and discussing the menu. The woman working had acknowledged us choosing our food, but when we went to the counter the restaurant had suddenly stopped serving food. I looked around and other people were eating. They just decided to stop cooking for the day (even though it wasnt closing time). When we asked why, the girl didnt even know and just pointed at the manager. We left and wont be going back.
I booked my Little one in for the Christmas breakfast and whilst there met a lovely young lady with blonde hair who was fantastic and made mine and my families experience amazing (I believe this young lady was called Ash from her name tag that I saw). Booked for Easter breakfast in hope that she would be their again and to my delight she was. Dressed up in a blue dress, Ash once again was absolutely fantastic and my little one LOVED her just as he did at Christmas when she was Santas Little helper. She was so well spoken, knew how to interact with my little boy. He suffers with confidence issues, I always struggle with him taking part in things. However Ash with her lovely smile made me and my little one exteremly welcomed and comfortable and I havent seen him so willing to take part. This wasnt just with my little boy either, she made time for them all (at Christmas too) and got them all involved. She has a natural gift of interacting and looking after the little ones, but also can switch to being able to have an adult conversation with us mums and dads. She delivered our food and had a little chat to encourage my little one to eat up all his breakfast. My husband and I thought the service we got was second to non, the food was great. (the young man who works there with blondeish hair who wasnt there this time at our Easter breakfast but was at Christmas was a delight also, so helpful. The two (Ash and this youngman) worked well together clearing our table at Christmas breakfast, whilst asking us how the food was and our plans for Christmas.( A lovely personal touch) .I cant thank Ash and the team in the kitchen enough for our experience for this easter breakfast. FANTASTIC customer service. Thank you to Ash especially for making our visit as a family brilliant each time. Ongar Wyevale, what a lovely young lady you have to represent you.
Excellent garden centre. Excellent plants and shrubs. Nice, clean, spacious restaurant, serving delicious freshly cooked food and sandwiches
